SEA-PAC Pin Design Contest

SEA-PAC holds an annual pin design contest. The contest winner receives two tickets to the next SEA-PAC Banquet.

Ivan Loock is originally from Wisconsin, and has been an Oregonian since 1983. He was first licensed in 1990 as KB7LNJ, and became N7PRM thirty days later, upon earning his Technician License. He upgraded to General Class in 2002, and another thirty days later, earned his Extra Class.

Today, in 2025, he is upgrading to a commercial, General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL). He is a Life Member of the ARRL, a VE, an active member of Oregon Tualatin Valley Amateur Radio Club (OTVARC), and has been a part of SEA-PAC's Commercial Exhibitor setup since 1992. He is a NOAA Skywarn Spotter, operates a repeater system, and enjoys teaching others how repeaters are not black magic and voodoo!

Aside from radiocommunications, he has a deep background in public safety, pyrotechnics and commercial aviation. Alongside his own system, he lurks on DMR, specifically on the Oregon 1, and East Coast Reflector Talkgroups.

For consideration in the contest, the pin must include:

The words "SEA-PAC". (Does not have to be in the mistral font of the original.)
The SEA-PAC logo. (The round logo with wave and birds shown at the top of this page.
The year (2025, 25, or '25 are all acceptable).
If geography is depicted, the pin should reflect the Northwest Division, not a specific state.
The pin size has a 1 inch maximum dimension. Pins can have up to 6 colors maximum. Every area needs to be marked with a color on a sample printout. Remember, color must be surrounded by metal. Tiny or busy areas should be simplified or enlarged. Use strong lines and simple art. Letters are usually in metal, as they are too thin to hold color or are too small. The lapel pins are small, so look at the design and imagine putting metal around color. Someone has to put color in recesses - and if it is too small, they can't do it.

The manufacturer may make alterations to the design, as needed to meet specifications.

The submitted design must include:

Original artwork design in color at 400% minimum.
Name, address, and phone number of person submitting the design.

The pin designs must be submitted for consideration no later than midnight PT on March 8^th, 2025.

The decision of the SEA-PAC Committee is final. Furthermore, the manufacturer may make alterations to the design, as needed, to meet their specifications.
