Ivan Loock is originally from Wisconsin, and has been an Oregonian since 1983. He was first licensed in 1990 as KB7LNJ, and became N7PRM thirty days later, upon earning his Technician License. He upgraded to General Class in 2002, and another thirty days later, earned his Extra Class.
Today, in 2025, he is upgrading to a commercial, General Radiotelephone Operator
License (GROL). He is a Life Member of the ARRL, a VE, an active member of Oregon
Tualatin Valley Amateur Radio Club (OTVARC), and has been a part of
SEA-PAC's Commercial Exhibitor setup since 1992.
He is a NOAA Skywarn Spotter, operates a repeater system, and enjoys teaching
others how repeaters are not black magic and voodoo!
Aside from radiocommunications, he has a deep background in public safety, pyrotechnics and commercial aviation. Alongside his own system, he lurks on DMR, specifically on the Oregon 1, and East Coast Reflector Talkgroups.
